Protecting your Ideal boiler warranty
Ideal Logic boilers carry a strong manufacturer warranty — typically 7 years on the Logic range and up to 10 years on Logic Max models. It is one of the main reasons they are such a popular choice in Irish homes.
That warranty is not automatic though. Ideal require two things:
- The boiler is registered within 30 days of installation
- It is serviced every year by a registered gas installer, with the service record kept up to date
Miss a year and you can find yourself arguing about a claim on a boiler that should have been covered — on a repair that might otherwise have cost you nothing. We complete the service record properly each time, so the paperwork is there if you ever need it.

Common Ideal Logic fault codes
Ideal Logic boilers show a code on the display when something is wrong. Knowing what it means before you ring saves time, and it often means we arrive with the right part already on the van.

| F1 | Low water pressure — the system has dropped below the safe level |
| F2 | Flame loss — the flame has gone out during operation |
| F3 | Fan fault — the fan is not running correctly |
| L1 | Flow temperature overheat — the boiler has overheated |
| L2 | Ignition lockout — the boiler has failed to ignite |
| L5 | Too many resets in a row |
| L6 | Flame sensing electrode fault — the flame signal is not being detected properly |
Codes can vary between models and production years, so treat this as a guide rather than a diagnosis. Ring us with the code showing and we will tell you what we think you are dealing with.
Seeing F1? Try this first
F1 is low water pressure, and it is the most common Ideal Logic code by a distance. On most models the gauge should read between 1 and 1.5 bar when the system is cold. Topping it up with the filling loop often clears it — and if it keeps dropping, that points to a leak somewhere, which is worth having looked at.
Ideal boiler repair in Dublin
Ideal boilers are reliable units, but like any boiler they develop faults as they age. Our breakdown call-out is €80, covering diagnosis and the repair itself where no parts are needed. The Ideal boiler faults we are called to most often are:
- Pressure dropping on the gauge
