Plenty of breakdowns turn out to be something straightforward. Where no parts are needed, jobs like these are covered by the call-out charge with nothing further to pay:

If your boiler does need a part, we will tell you exactly what it needs and what it will cost before we do anything further — so you are never landed with a bill you did not agree to.

Repair or replace? We will tell you straight
We will always try to repair your gas boiler first if it is cost-effective and safe. If repairs are getting frequent (or expensive), we will be honest and let you know.
Generally speaking, if your gas boiler is over 15-20 years old, constantly breaking down, or your energy bills are going through the roof, it may be worth putting the money towards a new gas boiler instead of another repair. We would rather tell you that than keep charging you call-out fees.
Before you ring: two quick things to check
1. Pressure gauge — if it is below 1 bar, low pressure may be the whole problem.
2. Thermostat and timer — check it has not been knocked off schedule, and that the batteries are not flat.
If neither sorts it, give us a call and tell us any fault code showing on the display — it helps us arrive with the right part.
